The Love I Chose… and the Lesson It Taught Me

The Love I Chose… and the Lesson It Taught Me

When she was seventeen, she believed love was simple.

Not easy — but simple enough that if you cared deeply, stayed loyal, and gave your heart fully, things would eventually work out.

That belief shaped one of the biggest decisions of her life.

During her final year of school, her boyfriend’s life changed suddenly. He began facing serious health challenges that affected his daily routine, his energy, and his future plans. Everything became uncertain for him, and by extension, for both of them.

And somehow, against the odds, life moved forward.

They graduated. They stayed together. And eventually, they got married.

Later, they welcomed a child into their lives.

From the outside, their story looked like one of devotion — two people who had faced hardship and come out stronger on the other side.

And for a long time, she believed that too.

She believed that everything they had was built on endurance, love, and mutual sacrifice.

Years passed.
